The abstract way of representing thoughts and feelings is my preferred style. Painting is just another medium.
The titles offer context and get the observer started on what they see in the composition.
I view the art-making process as a cooperative act that involves chance, intuition, and determination. At times I will cooperate directly with water, air, fire, soil, whatever presents itself.
For the two Liminal works, linen canvas was buried in soil for four months in order to absorb colour from the soil minerals. The effects from the soil represent the chance aspect while the finishing represents the determination aspect. My completion is mentored by what the soil has done which means I work in cooperation with the soil.
